A REASON TO EXPLORE
Many outdoor enthusiasts love the north country in the fall. The fair weather and fall colors create awe inspiring landscapes in every direction. There is a sense that change is happening and that we are part of it. Trees change color, squirrels collect food, moose are active for both food and love, we are all getting ready for the winter ahead.
Ruffed grouse and spruce grouse, rabbits, waterfowl, fox & wolf are all legal game for hunters at this time of year. The primary quarry for hunters is grouse. To harvest these medium sized birds the hunter must first seek out their territory. This often brings unexpected rewards. New trails, sights and vistas, seeing moose, bear, marten, eagles, lynx etc. ... these are some of the experiences that can be had for those fortunate enough to be in the woods at this time of year. Finding the grouse and and bringing home the rewards of a successful hunt is a fine way to spend time up north.
